This is the storie board for a Montage i shot

DONNIE DARKO

Protagonist- Donnie Darko                                                           
Antagonist- “The forces in the world that he perceives to be threatening”
Love interest- Gretchen Ross
 
THE SETUP: Donnie Darko is a sixteen year old boy with emotional problems.
The first time we se him he is laying on the road on “Carpathian ridge” in the early morning with his bicycle near him. We are given the impression that he is a sleep walker.
 
INICITING INCIDENT: During the middle of the night on October the 2nd 1988 by a voice that says “Get up”, “I’ve been watching you”, “Come closer”. This leads Donnie out of his bed and house and onto a golf course, were he meets the character behind the voice, it’s a 6 ft tall bunny rabbit named Frank. This is were he is told in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minuets and 6 seconds the world will end. Back at home a jet engine of a plane crashes through Donnie’s room.
 
ACT ONE TURNING POINT: Once again while Donnie is asleep having a dream about a flooded corridor, he is woken by Franks voice saying “wake up Donnie”. Donnie is this time lead to his school were he carries an axe and a spay paint can.
Donnie swings the axe at a water main causing the school to flood.
 
MID-POINT: Before the mid point, Frank asks Donnie if he believes in time travel.
In the mid point Donnie asks he physics teacher if he knows about time travel, He gives Donnie a book called “The Philosophy of Time Travel”. This book was written by Roberta Sparrow (aka grandma death) a woman who is now 101 years old and lives in Middlesex with Donnie. At this point Donnie is confused about everything and doesn’t not know what is going to happen in 20 days.
 
ACT TWO TURNING POINT: Donnie takes Gretchen on a date to the movies. While Gretchen has fallen asleep Frank has appeared next to Donnie. After talking to Donnie about who he is Frank asks if Donnie has ever seen a portal. The portal that appears on the movie screen turns in to a window showing Jim Cunningham’s house. Frank tells Donnie to “Burn it to the ground”. Donnie does so, he does this because Frank saved his life.
 
ACT THREE TURNING POINT:  It is October the 30th 1988 Donnie and his sister Elizabeth are having a Halloween party while their parents are out of town.
During this party with six hours remaining untill its “the end of the world” Donnie realizes that he has to go see Roberta Sparrow and go into her cellar door.
While they are there Gretchen gets run over by a car, and the driver of the car turns out to be Frank dressed in the bunny suit, Donnie pulls out his fathers gun and shoots Frank in the eye.
 
RESOLUTION OR DENOUEMENT: Donnie carries Gretchen’s Dead body back to his house (now in the early morning with 1 hour to go) were he sees a worm hole forming above his house. He takes his sisters car keys and drives himself and Gretchen to the top of “Carpathian ridge”. Meanwhile on an airplane Samantha and Rose Darko experience some turbulence due to one of the engines being rip off the plain. Donnie hops back in the car. Donnie then travels back through time, back to October the 2nd to before the engine falls through his roof, we see Donnie laughing and being happy as he realizes that everything is okay. The engine falls on his room and he dies.
